Nordic Bioscience celebrated the release of the 3rd edition of "Biochemistry of Collagens, Laminins, and Elastin" book, published by Elsevier Science

We have worked hard with our collaborators for the past 2 years on the 3rd edition of the successful “Biochemistry of Collagens, Laminins, and Elastin” book, published by Elsevier Science. We are proud to announce that the all new collagen book is finally ready and in print!

We like to call this book the "Collagen Book", but there is now a wealth of knowledge not only about collagens but also about dozens of pathologies in the context of the ECM. This ECM-focused publication aims to enhance comprehension and quantification of the ECM's role in chronic diseases, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes. The updated version:

  • Provides a thorough discussion of collagens and related structural proteins, exploring their connection to over 50 diseases involving the ECM.

  • Offers insights into biochemical interactions and changes in protein structural composition during disease states, emphasizing the central role of the interstitial matrix and basement membrane in numerous diseases.

  • Highlights the significance of the collagen assembly machinery for function and durability.

  • Details the key role of collagens in various chronic diseases, emphasizing their potential as prognostic biomarkers for patient selection.

  • Discusses the crucial aspects of tissue degradation and formation, emphasizing the need to distinguish between these processes for a comprehensive understanding and treatment of chronic diseases.

  • Presents approaches for protein quantification and detection of collagen aging, along with new insights into Laminin, Elastin, and fibronectin.

A huge thank you to all who have made this edition of the "Collagen Book" a reality!
