Nordic Bioscience is participating at ECCO '22
It’s Day 1 today and Nordic Bioscience is excited to participate at the 17th Congress of ECCO (European Crohn’s and Colitis Organisation).
This year our GI team is happy to present our recent findings and data based on our Nordic protein fingerprint biomarkers of Collagen remodeling and serum calprotectin biomarkers for IBD.
Based on the data from the Imagekids study, we have seen that our protein fingerprint biomarkers of collagen remodeling are associated with inflammation and/or intestinal fibrosis in Pediatric Crohn’s disease patients. Here, we demonstrated that the endotrophin biomarker (PRO-C6) was associated with MRE confirmed stenosis. Furthermore, we observed an elevated level in the degradation biomarker of Type I, III, IV and VI collagen reflecting mucosal damage and tissue and tissue inflammation.
These findings indicate that our protein fingerprint biomarkers could be potentially applied as a surrogate biomarker for monitoring mucosal damage or tissue inflammation and fibrostenotic stricture development.
